World Bank Publishes the SCS Guide

Washington, July 16, 2009 - In participation with various supply chain security experts from around the world, the World Bank published the Supply Chain Security (SCS) Guide.

Mr. Pascal Ollivier, Soget SA, and Mr. José Perrot, Port of Le Havre, worked as support for the elaboration of the SCS Guide with Mr. Michel Donner and Mr. Cornelis Kruk of the World Bank.

The SCS Guide includes a top-level explanation of the salient aspects of supply chain security and its essential regulatory, conceptual, technological and procedural components. It also describes the main SCS elements: Advance (electronic) Cargo Information (ACI), Risk Management, Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) and Operators’ Certification.

The SCS Guide is mostly destined to public administration officers regulating trade, port and airport authorities, as well as freight, transport and trade industry management personnel.

Applicable worldwide, it aims “to increase SCS awareness in particular in port and trade facilitation communities in developing countries.”
